AFL!

Wed Aug 6, 2008, 9:58 AM
I'm doing something new. I'm doing an art fight league on deviantART where original characters battle each other. You get paired off and you and your opponent draw a battle scene with your character and their character. Then the judges decide who is better.

My first fight is with ~sketchodie and he's already drawn his art. I'm in the midst of doing mine...since finished his first, I'm sort of drawing the next scene as if I was replying. Anyway, here's his: AFL Round 1: Javi VS Allucia.

I really like it. He got her just right ('cept for the shoes, but no biggy, you can't see that they're boots in ANY of my deviations).

I have until August 31 to finish this but I expect to have it finished within a week. I be busting my butt on this. But I've also worked every day at the day job this week so I haven't been able to put as much time as I like into it.

And now off to work with me. The one that pays me, that is. XD

I AM NOW A TATTOO APPRENTICE!!!

OH MY GOD!

DREAM JOB!

SQUEE!!!

Yeah so that's why I've been drawing oodles lately.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

...yeah, so that's what I was alluding to in the entry where I rambled about drawing.

...and in about a year I'll be needing people to tattoo. Any volunteers? ;)

This is a two year apprenticeship. I will probably be the first person I tattoo.

Drawing

Wed Jul 2, 2008, 10:41 AM
So one thing that has been taking up a lot of my time (and hence I am not blogging often because of drawing).

I wanted to see if I could reproduce a picture, for example (taking a break from my digital fan art painting).

So I'm using the cover of a Brian Froud book...this one, in fact, but I am using a color photocopy of the cover as reference and it is much much darker. Anyway, here's my progress so far...these all point to my deviantART scraps, completely work safe. Click the image for a bigger view.

Froud-ish 1
Froud-ish 2
Froud-ish 3

I didn't realize I could draw that decent. Woot. Guess I should keep practicing.

Oh, and I have a chance to possibly embark on my dream job. But that's all I'm saying. Don't want to jinx it. Only the mommy and the other half (and naturally, the person that may be offering the job) know about it. So I'm not telling anyone else what it is.

But good vibes are appreciated. :)

...now, I am going to work on some of my fan fiction. And maybe draw a little more.

Bridezilla in the making....

Mon Jun 30, 2008, 11:31 AM
Question...if I am inviting people from all over the country to this wedding, is it okay not to send bridal shower invitations to people who live in Florida or Arizona? They can just as well bring a gift to the wedding. Shower too far to travel. Or maybe I should make the gesture, because I'm not putting registry information in the wedding invitations. Heavens, no. Gah. Or maybe I should just put the registry information into the wedding invitations of people who do more than 500 miles away?

I'm planning an upstate bridal shower since most of Jason's family is up here. I wonder what's going on with my downstate one. O.o;; It's easier to transport me between upstate and downstate than to make a ton of people travel one place or the other with the price of gas.

And a bunch of ladies on my friends list are not going to be married by the time I get the invitations out, but they will by the time the wedding comes around. How the hell am I suppose to address these things? Maybe I shouldn't stress over that...the place settings I'm making myself will only have first names on them, and I may be using nicknames. I'm creating personalized beaded keychain place settings to double as showing where people sit so I will probably use nicknames on a lot of those.

Also wondering if only having Liberty Travel registry is okay...we don't really need everything we'd put on our Macy's registry. But maybe I should make something small at another store.

Bachleorette party...methinks it should be night before wedding due to travel, and I want a lot of my girlfriends besides the bridesmaids to go...but maybe I should just do it with the bridesmaids at QXT's the week before in NJ. The only BM that won't be going is my cousin Daniela who is a minor.

I'm taking over more wedding planning from my mother, her health isn't too great. She's been to the cardiologist three times in the past two weeks and this worries me. She's around the same age Grampa was when his heart started giving him shit. And Grama is in the hospital again. Something's wrong with her colon. I'm assuming it's just scar tissue (I found out last week she was in the hospital again) so I am hoping since I haven't gotten any bad news it's just scar tissue from her surgery a few months ago. Yes, these are my mom's parents I speak of.

theknot.com is pissing me off. Their servers suck. LEARN HOW TO CODE PEOPLE. I'm trying to work on guest list but it is not making it easy. I deleted my Macy's wedding registry because the coding on their website sucks and wouldn't let me update my address, it was still showing the Sandy Creek address but it let me update the change in wedding date. Retards. Maybe I'll go to Sears or JCPenny, ~Kaine977 thinks Target and Walmart suck. I like Target though, it's much nicer than Walmart without being as expensive.

I'm taking over more wedding planning and I'm OCD...and still, people think it's impossible for me to turn into a Bridezilla because I'm too nice. I can be nice AND be a Bridezilla...muhahahaha.

Fan Fiction Updates...

Sun Jun 8, 2008, 11:18 AM
~apolloracer and I have been updating the crap out of our fan fiction. That's what all those bookcovers I've been doing recently are for. But I'm not uploading them to deviantART. Two dozen novel length stories? YEAH RIGHT.

Go to Dork & Spaz Productions and read them there. They are in PDF form. Not everything is up and PDF-ized yet but I'm working on it.

I've also realized I have not only improved in my writing, but I have a lot more patience for exposition now. This past year I have added two entirely new chapters to A New York Yankee in Kathryn Janeway's Court and Love Hurts and my brain still won't shut up.

I may have started these stories ten years ago but I'm glad I am obsessive when it comes to details. Eventually I might take some of these things to Kinkos, make some copies, and try and sell them at conventions or something. Though it might be more cost effective to buy my own laser printer. O.o;;

Right now I am trying to come up with a book cover for True Q and not really getting anyway. I am attempting to photomanip a picture but it sucks. If anyone would like to donate their services (or trade for jewelry/web hosting/web design?) let me know. I really need something good with Q (DeLancie) plus mine and ~apolloracer's original characters.

Normally I'd whip a doll up or something but my old mouse broke, I have a trackball right now, and I am waiting on Best Buy to send me a $50 they owe me so I can pick up a tablet.
